Effect of laxatives

I went for an investigation the other day at the hospital because I've been experiencing rectal bleeding for a while now and it was getting quite heavy. Thinking back, I realise it's been happening since I had a really bad laxative overdose and was experiencing bloody diarrhoea for about a week. To be honest, I'd kind of get used to the pain and have just been tolerating it and ignoring the bleeding.
When I saw the doctor at the hospital, he said I had a fissure. Basically like a wound that won't heal, an ulcer type thing. I don't know how my GP missed it, but he did. Anyway he's given me some cream for a month and hopefully it will heal. When I got home, I asked my husband to have a look and take a photo for me to look at. Anyway the thing is HUGE. I don't know how it didn't bother me before.
It just goes to show the bad effects of laxative abuse. It's so not worth it

It is painful, but I'm quite good at ignoring pain. The cream is giving me really bad headaches It works by opening your blood vessels and then gets absorbed into your bloodstream, so it's making me nauseous and giving me a bad headache. Hopefully it will calm down
