Shimmery/Sparkly vision?

Has anyone else had this? It started as a little spot right in the focus
point of my right eye, and for the last 30 minutes has been widening out to the side in
to a half circle sort of thing. It's pretty much peripheral now (and fading, I think), but
it's kind of freaking me out.

Any ideas what might be causing it? I had blood work done on Monday, and
everything came back okay, so I don't think it's a deficiency (unless
it's something they didn't test). My resting heart-rate and blood
pressure are low, and I'm orthostatic - not sure if that would have
anything to do with it. Hmm.

Since my ED started, my vision has become worse. Well, not my overall vision, but I've had a lot of blurriness. This is usually associated with purging or heavy restricting. If I'm eating 'normal' and am well hydrated then it usually gets better. If it continues, you should probably go for an eye test and if that comes back clear, then go back to the doctor.

Thanks, Lorna, its gone now. It was just so weird. It's like I tried to look at a letter, and all I could see was the sparkle spot, then the spot kind of strung out and moved off to the side. Super bizarre. I do need to schedule a regular eye check up. Guess I should get on that, huh?

As you described it, I think it was floater... It's a particle ending up in your eye and making you see something like a mini sparkling cloud. Could be the consequence of you falling yesterday while skating. Could also appear due to eye exertion (reading/computer), low blood pressure, etc...

Its a migraine! I was diagnosed with them when i was younger. I could wave my hand infront of my face and not see all the digits. The best thing to do is sleep it off in a dark room. Remember to drink plenty of water too.

But there's no headache - just the weird sparkly vision thing. Hmm. It hasn't happened again though, so that's good. Yay!

You don't have to get a headache with a migraine, its like the symptoms associated with it. It starts like a little circle spot with me then gradually spans until i cant see. I get mine when i don't eat at all and if i'm stressed.
